Diablos CoreBarbera Red wearing a summer-inspired outfit
from the popular smartphone game is now available as a figure!
The charm lies in the sculpting that shows attention to detail,
including the hammock, the shirt she is wearing,
the coconut, and the crab!

Even though I am supposed to be looking at a figure, for some reason I can even feel the sea breeze. It is the ”Diablos Core Season of the Blazing Sun - Barbera Red 1/6 Scale Complete Figure” that gives me such a mysterious sensation. The moment I first saw it, I felt, ”This is not just a character figure, but a single scene of summer itself.” In the figure of Barbera leaning relaxedly into the hammock, a certain listlessness and sexiness coexist, creating a unique atmosphere that makes even the viewer relax. She is not striking a powerful pose, nor is there any flashy staging. Yet, the reason it captures our gaze is probably because its ”natural beauty” has been meticulously crafted.
The charm of this figure lies in how it draws out the character's sexiness through soft gestures and expressions without relying on overtly flashy staging. Barbera looks over here with a slightly troubled expression while swaying in the hammock. In her appearance, there is a ”mature composure” that goes beyond just being cute. What is particularly impressive is the depiction of coconut juice droplets running down her skin. Due to the translucent liquid expression, the skin texture feels more realistic, allowing one to even imagine the midsummer humidity. The dialogue setting, ”It feels a bit uncomfortable...... Would you help me clean it up?” is also exquisite, and the interesting part is that it functions as a ”presentation that draws you into that scene” rather than just an object to look at. This meticulous situational setup greatly enhances the overall sense of immersion in the work.
What personally impressed me the most was the high quality of the included special beach-themed base. Because not only the figure itself but also the surrounding scenery is thoroughly sculpted, a tiny resort space is completed the moment it is displayed. The sculpting of the sandy beach has distinct unevenness, and the crabs and starfish placed there create a naturalness as if they are truly walking on the shore. Furthermore, accessories such as a bag, a sun hat, and a swim ring are exquisitely arranged, evoking a narrative that makes you feel as though ”she was playing in the sea until just a moment ago.” Background presentations like this are often treated as mere bonuses. However, with this figure, the base itself functions as an important part of the work's world. Therefore, it is highly attractive that it holds up as a ”scene of summer” from whatever angle you view it.
The total height is approximately 140 mm, which is a relatively compact size for a 1/6 scale figure, but strangely it does not feel small. Rather, because the expression of the scenery is extremely dense, it has a presence greater than its actual size. Due to the spread of the hammock and the depth of the base, there is a large amount of visual information, and it firmly dominates the space when displayed. Additionally, the sculpting using PVC and ABS is very delicate, meticulously reproducing everything from the smoothness of the skin to the softness of the outfit. The flow of the hair is particularly worth seeing, beautifully expressing a light movement that makes you feel the summer wind blowing through the seaside. Despite the quiet posing, there are surprisingly few figures that allow you to perceive the ”wind” or ”air”, so this point left a considerable impression on me.
Looking at this figure makes me realize once again that flashy action poses and combat presentation are not the only charms of a figure. Rather, this work leaves a strong impression by turning a ”casual moment” into a three-dimensional form. Barbera calls out to us here looking a little listless while swaying in the hammock. That sense of distance is strangely realistic, making you feel as though you are in the same summer space. Furthermore, the original illustration oval tin badge included as a bonus also stimulates the desire to collect, which must be a delightful point for fans of the work. As a figure that allows you to experience the feeling of not just ”displaying a character” but ”displaying a summer scene,” I felt that this ”Season of the Blazing Sun - Barbera Red” is a highly perfected piece.
The ”Diablos Core Season of the Blazing Sun - Barbera Red 1/6 Scale Complete Figure” possesses a mysterious charm where the atmosphere changes every time you look at it. If displayed in a bright place during the day, the refreshing seaside atmosphere stands out, and under slightly calm lighting, it exudes a somewhat glamorous and mature air. That variation is also another interesting aspect of this figure. Precisely because it is a work that gradually draws you in through quiet gestures and delicate expressions of scenery, rather than the type that overwhelms with flashy staging, it has a charm that can be enjoyed over time. While numerous summer-themed figures exist, among them, a work that makes you feel a ”slowly flowing time” to this extent might be quite rare.
