Dorohedoro Nikaido Devil Awakening Ver.】 The ultimate form supervised by the original creator!
The intricate craftsmanship of the demonized Nikaido figure,
based on the cover of Volume 16 and featuring movable gimmicks,
is a hot topic!

Anyone who likes ”Dorohedoro” will likely feel the moment they lay eyes on this figure, ”Ah, this isn't just a simple 3D model.” This Nikaido effortlessly leaps beyond the boundaries of mere character merchandise. Based on the cover of Volume 16 of the manga, it possesses a raw power that makes it feel as if the illustration on the page has seeped directly into reality. Rather than just being displayed, it carries an aura where the word ”existing” feels more appropriate.
At the core of this figure is the exquisite timing of being ”mid-transformation.” Nikaido is not quite a full demon yet, but she is certainly beginning to deviate from being human. That ambiguous and precarious state is firmly captured through the sculpting. The horns peeking through the gaps in her hair and an expression that hints at something unsettling stir the imagination more and more the longer you look at it. This is a 3D expression that encompasses a story, going beyond just being beautiful.
While the sculpting and coloring techniques are naturally high, what is particularly impressive about this work is how well the supervision of the original creator, Q Hayashida, is reflected. The heavy, cluttered, yet strangely realistic worldview unique to Dorohedoro remains intact. Everything from the shading to the muddiness of the colors has been calculated so as not to disrupt the atmosphere of the series. As a result, it is interesting how it stands not just as a ”pretty figure,” but as an actual ”piece of Dorohedoro.”
As you gaze at it closely, you’ll be surprised by the sheer amount of information in the fine details. For instance, props like the golden-brown pan-fried gyoza and the gyoza turner in her hand are key points that symbolize Nikaido’s character, and the ”Hungry Bug” logo on her arm is reproduced without fail. Furthermore, while the outfit looks rough and casual at first glance, the differences between materials are carefully painted, conveying solid craftsmanship within the clutter. This ”lack of cohesion in a good way” directly brings out the charm of the work.
A ball joint is built into the neck, allowing the impression to change drastically just by slightly altering the gaze or angle. It looks provocative from the front, intimidating when looking slightly up at it, and conversely, it even feels somewhat fleeting when looking down at it. Even though it is a fixed-pose figure, the fact that the expression changes based on the viewer’s ingenuity is a great feature. Since the impression also changes depending on the display location and height, you can enjoy it in ways that go beyond a simple display.
You might be a bit surprised if you pick up this Nikaido just because ”she’s a character I like.” That’s because this is closer to a ”3D object that has captured a piece of the work” rather than just character merchandise. By placing it in your room, there’s a sense that a bit of that unique Dorohedoro atmosphere flows in. That is precisely why it will become a standout presence that radiates a distinct uniqueness within any collection.
